This Week's Shameless Budgeteer Plug

A "G'day, eh!" to all fathers out there -- especially ones who have had to put up with little s**** like myself -- and a special "thank you" to my wife of two years for doing the same!

"Woodland: Small-town Life with a Duluth ZIP Code" :: Our "Neighborhood Spotlight" series continues with Woodland, home of Minnesota's lone Piggly Wiggly supermarket, the 99-years-strong Woodland Hills and, the first of its kind in the city, the Islamic Center of the Twin Ports. (Includes photo gallery!)

"Book: There's More to the North Shore than Just a Pretty Face" :: In her book “Lake Superior’s Historic North Shore," Deborah Morse-Kahn explores the "wildfire of property development" erasing its treasured shoreline. (A feature on a book I reviewed in brief a few months back.)

"CD Reviews: Islands, the Cool Kids and the Headie Berrie" :: Albums reviewed this time around: Islands' "Arm's Way," the Cool Kids' "The Bake Sale" EP and the Headie Berrie's "Morning Toast" EP.
