A&E FYI: UWS holds auditions for 'The Dead Guy'

Superior, Wis. -- University Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Superior announces auditions for its 2007-2008 season opener “The Dead Guy” on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 18 and 19, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Manion Theater, located in the Holden Fine and Applied Arts Center on Catlin Avenue and 19th Street on the UW-Superior campus. For maps and directions to campus, go online to www.uwsuper.edu/directions.

There are roles for 10 to 15 men and women, ranging in age from 18 to 50. Prepared pieces will not be necessary, as people wishing to audition will be asked to do cold readings from the script. Also, loose clothing should be worn as there will be physical movements as part of the audition process.

“The Dead Guy” is a dark comedy that takes a satirical look at the world of reality television by following the ultimate premise for a show: find some “loser” to die on live television.

University Theatre is a co-curricular activity of the Department of Communicating Arts and is open to all members of the Twin Ports’ community.
